In this latest episode of The Dream Detective Podcast, I interviewed Kathleen O'Keefe-Kanavos, a 3-time breast cancer survivor whose dreams saved her life by providing early detection when no doctors or medical tests could. We talk about her books 'Surviving Cancerland: Intuitive Aspects of Healing' and 'Dreams That Can Save Your Life: Early Warning Signs of Cancer and Other Diseases' with co-author Dr. Larry Burk. We explore how dreams can provide both literal and symbolic warnings, and look at some of the common symbols in dreams of cancer patients. We also discuss dream visitations from deceased loved ones (aka after death visitation dreams), and how they can play a significant role in delivering message to warn us of health concerns. By listening to her dreams and her waking life intuition, Kat was guided on the path to healing, despite resistance from medical professionals. Join us to hear her fascinating story. Returning to the heart can be a glorious thing. It can be a painful thing as well. When we get used to staying in our minds or if we're prone to dissociation, coming back into the heart can be quite a shock. There's feeling there. There's investment. It takes courage to be centered in the heart. This eclipse reminds us of that. The placement of the North Node in Cancer, ruled by the Leo Moon, is asking us to take the initiative to nurture and nourish what's been opening up in our hearts for the past few years.

I was like most people that come in here for the first time, or maybe every time-- a seeker. The first time I came in I spent hours perusing. As I made my way around the store I ended up sitting on the floor adjacent to the front desk in the poetry section. This wasn’t a very large section but I figured if they had the book at East West it was probably for a reason. I picked up a collection of poems by Mary Oliver and opened to a poem entitled Everything. "I want to make poems that say right out, plainly, what I mean, that don’t go looking for the laces of elaboration, puffed sleeves. I want to keep close and use often words like heavy, heart, joy, soon, and to cherish the question mark and her bold sister"
