Join local Seattle kirtan duo, Rob and Melissa, for a devotional evening of satsang, story telling and chanting the sacred names of Lord Shiva.
Maha Shivaratri literally translates as "great night of Shiva.” This festival honors the yogic deity, Lord Shiva, and celebrates overcoming darkness and ignorance in the world by asking us to focus our attention on ethics and virtues such as self-restraint, kindness, forgiveness and honesty. It is a perfect day to offer our gratitude to Shiva, the Adi Yogi (the First Yogi), through meditation, yoga, fasting and especially kirtan (call and response chanting).
Join Rob and Melissa for a special Maha Shivaratri Kirtan Celebation! Together, we’ll sing Shiva’s sacred names, hear stories of Shiva and his consorts, Parvati and Ganga and open our hearts to the auspicious nature of this most powerful deity.
