July 2019 Events

July 07, 2019 - Sunday 12:30-2pm - Shamanic Council-The Art of Classical Siberian Shamanism - with Jan Van Ysslestyne

The Shamanic Council is an ongoing group which practices Classical Siberian Shamanism from an unbroken lineage from the Ulchi tribe in southeastern Siberia.

Each month we will examine new ideas and explore various practices. They include, but are not limited to:

Ways of Nature—This class informs the newcomer to the basic principles of an animistic paradigm. This will provide a solid foundation for the work and interpretation of beliefs, behaviors, and practices in the art of Classical Siberian Shamanism.

The World Tree & Three Worlds—Entry into parallel realities are accessed through variable mythic landscapes. The stories and legends of the collective worlds will be discussed and how one will gain entry will be presented.

The Nature of Spirits and Invisible Helpers—Spirits and helpers are the guides, teachers, and protectors when traveling in the other worlds. Learning their nature, protocols of first contact, proper etiquette and approach will enable the student to establish an enduring partnership.

Dreamwork and Foundations of Spiritual Authority—Dream portals allow us access into the invisible realms. Dreamwork techniques that are designed for entry into these realms will be provided and discussed.

Our Three Souls and the Nature of Soul Restoration—The nature of our tri-part soul and the inner secrets of soul restoration will be discussed and examined.

Taking the Journey—Learning the call of your spirit helpers, stepping out into the invisible worlds, walking the road, and safe return to normal consciousness will be introduced and discussed.

Practice includes: Learning to reconnect with Nature-somatic techniques to feel the intuitive world, traditional classical shamanic rhythms, hypnogogic and hypnopompic principles, variations on trance states, dream work, adding your voice to the drum rhythms, trance dancing, and singing and drumming the journey.

A Native, Celtic, or Siberian Drum is required for all classes. Please, no congas or dumbeks. If you do not own a drum, please borrow one. Drums can also be purchased through East West Bookshop, music stores in your area, or online.

These classes are designed for either the beginner or advanced student of the practice. Although the Council has been meeting for years, please feel free to join at any time.
