Join psychotherapist Christina Malecka to engage in an interactive experience to explore your relationship with technology and get tips and tools to break free from digital overwhelm.
Put down your phone and reclaim your humanity!  Digital Wellness 101
We will begin with a slide presentation about the emotional, physical impacts of too much screen time, followed by guided discussion and experiential exercises focused on applying mindfulness skills to achieve tech/life balance, cultivate sympathetic joy, and reclaim in-person connection.
Do you know someone who is tethered to the phone 24 - hours a day? Is that someone you?  You're not alone! The average American spends 4 hours a day on their phone and 10 hours a day on their screens (and that's not even counting time spent at work!). These our hours you could be directing towards your spiritual practice, passion projects and the people you love.  2020 is the year for us to reclaim our time from tech companies and make the shift from being controlled by technology to engaging with it on our own terms.  

During her presentation, Christina will discuss the negative impacts of constant connectivity, the emotional health hazards posed by social media, and concrete ideas for using mindfulness tools to create a healthier relationship with technology. As a psychotherapist for 16 years, Christina has had a front-row seat to the emotional impacts of smartphones and social media on her clients: notably increased loneliness, anxiety, and alienation. In 2017, inspired her own transformative experience with digital fasting, Christina launched Digital Mindfulness Retreats, which emphasize meditation, present-moment experience, social connection, and self-reflection. A community organizer turned Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Politicized Healer, she brings over 25 years of experience with change-making, group facilitation, mindfulness training, and workshop development.  Christina loves creating nurturing experiences to help people connect more deeply with self and others.
